(A Story About 4 TFM – Acting Despite the Voice of Insecurity)
Inse and Curity walked to school as the golden morning sun painted the sky with soft orange streaks. Birds chirped in the trees, but Inse didn’t hear them. He was too busy listening to the nervous voice inside his head.
“Don’t do it, Inse,” the voice whispered. “You’ll mess up.”
Inse hugged his notebook tightly. His teacher had asked him to share a short story with the class today, but the very thought of standing in front of everyone made his stomach flip. What if they laughed? What if he forgot his words?
Curity noticed his worried face. “Inse, what’s on your mind?”
Inse sighed. “I have to read my story today, but I can’t do it. My legs will freeze, my voice will shake… and everyone will think I’m silly.”
Curity smiled. “That’s just the voice of insecurity talking. But today, we’re practicing the fourth transformation—Act Despite the Voice of Insecurity.”
Inse frowned. “But how can I act if I feel scared?”
Curity knelt beside him. “Courage doesn’t mean you’re not afraid. It means you do something even when you’re afraid.”
Inse bit his lip. “But what if I mess up?”
Curity shrugged. “Then you mess up. But at least you tried! And every time you act despite fear, the voice of insecurity gets quieter.”
As they reached school, Inse watched his classmates chatting and laughing. Maybe, just maybe, he could do this.
When it was his turn to read, his hands trembled as he stood up. The voice of insecurity whispered, “Sit down! This is a mistake!”
But he remembered Curity’s words. Courage means acting even when afraid.
Taking a deep breath, Inse read his story. His voice wobbled at first, but as he kept going, the words flowed more smoothly. By the time he finished, his classmates clapped.
His teacher smiled. “That was wonderful, Inse! Thank you for sharing.”
As he sat back down, Curity gave him a thumbs-up. Inse grinned. The voice of insecurity hadn’t disappeared, but today, he had acted anyway.
And that made him feel braver than ever.
4 TFM – Act Despite the Voice of Insecurity reminds us that fear and doubt don’t have to stop us. The more we practice stepping forward despite insecurity, the braver we become! 😊
