(A Story About 5 TFM – Befriend Your Inner Voice)
Inse sat at his desk, staring at his assignments like they were a mountain he’d never climb.
His history report. His science project. His math homework.
“There’s no way I’ll finish this,” the voice of insecurity whispered. “You should just give up now.”
Inse groaned and buried his head in his arms.
Curity peeked in and immediately saw the problem. “Overwhelmed?” she guessed.
Inse sighed. “I don’t even know where to start.”
Curity sat down beside him. “I know that feeling. It sounds like the voice of insecurity is really loud right now.”
Inse nodded. “It won’t shut up.”
Curity smiled. “That’s because it’s scared. But what if I told you that you don’t have to fight it?”
Inse frowned. “What do you mean?”
Curity grabbed a piece of paper. “Instead of ignoring it, try befriending it. Listen to what it’s saying—then let the voice of security help you respond.”
They made a list of all his assignments, breaking them into smaller steps.
“This is still too much,” insecurity whispered.
But security answered, One step at a time. Just start.
Slowly, Inse got to work. Every time he felt stuck, insecurity would creep in—You’re too slow!—but security reminded him—Keep going, you’re making progress.
By the time the sky outside turned pink, he had finished everything.
Inse leaned back in his chair, amazed. “I did it.”
Curity grinned. “See? The voice of insecurity wasn’t wrong—it just needed a plan. And the voice of security helped you follow through.”
Inse looked out the window. “I guess I don’t have to be scared of that voice anymore.”
Curity nodded. “Nope! When you listen to both voices, you get the best results.”
As they walked outside to watch the sunset, Inse smiled. He had learned something powerful—he wasn’t controlled by his inner voices. He could work with them.
And that changed everything.
