(A Story About 5 TFM – Befriend Your Inner Voice)
It was a bright, breezy afternoon, and Inse and Curity walked through the park. But today, the sunshine didn’t make Inse feel any better. His shoulders slumped, and he kicked at the pebbles on the path.
“I didn’t make the basketball team,” he muttered. “I tried so hard, but I wasn’t good enough.”
Curity placed a hand on his shoulder. “I know it’s tough, Inse. But remember, today’s transformation is about befriending both of your inner voices—the voice of insecurity and the voice of security.”
Inse frowned. “Why would I be friends with the voice of insecurity? It just makes me feel bad.”
Curity smiled. “Because both voices have a purpose. If you listen carefully, you’ll see that even insecurity can help you grow.”
They sat on a wooden bench under a shady tree, watching some kids play basketball nearby.
“Let’s start with the voice of insecurity,” Curity said. “What did it say when you didn’t make the team?”
Inse sighed. “It told me I wasn’t good enough and that I should never try again.”
Curity nodded. “Okay. Now, instead of getting upset, let’s listen to what it’s really saying. Is it possible that it’s just trying to push you to work harder?”
Inse thought for a moment. “Maybe… I guess I can practice more.”
Curity grinned. “Exactly! Now, let’s listen to the voice of security. What would it say to you?”
Inse sat up a little straighter. “It would tell me that I have other talents, like being good at math and science. And that even if I didn’t make the team this time, I can try again.”
Curity nodded. “See? One voice points out what needs improving, and the other reminds you of your strengths. They work together.”
Inse smiled. “So instead of fighting my voice of insecurity, I can use it and my voice of security to get better?”
“Exactly!” Curity said. “It’s like being the coach of your own mind!”
Inse felt a new spark of motivation. “I’m going to practice every day after school. And next time, I’ll be ready!”
Curity gave him a high-five. As they walked home, Inse realized something—his voice of insecurity wasn’t his enemy after all.
And that made him feel stronger than ever.
