Inse walked to school with his head down. His best friend, Jack, had just won the school science competition, and even though Inse had tried his best, his project hadn’t even come close.
Curity, his big sister, noticed his gloomy face. “What’s wrong, little brother?” she asked.
Inse sighed. “Jack won the competition, and I just… wasn’t good enough.”
Curity put a hand on his shoulder. “Hey, don’t say that. You worked hard on your project, and I’m sure it was great in its own way.”
“But Jack’s was better,” Inse muttered.
Curity nodded. “Jack’s project was amazing. But does that mean yours wasn’t good?”
Inse hesitated. “I guess not…”
Curity smiled. “You’re listening to the voice of insecurity. It tells you that someone else’s success means you’ve failed. But the voice of security says something different. Want to hear it?”
Inse nodded.
Curity continued, “It says you can learn from Jack’s success. Instead of feeling jealous, why not use his win as motivation? What can you learn from Jack’s project?”
Inse thought about it. “Well… he did a lot of research. Maybe next time I can ask him for tips.”
Curity beamed. “That’s the spirit! When you listen to the voice of security, you grow instead of feeling stuck.”
Later that day, as they walked home, they saw Jack sitting on a bench, looking unhappy.
“What’s wrong, Jack?” Inse asked.
Jack sighed. “I realized I made a mistake in my project. It won’t work as well as I thought.”
Inse was surprised. “But you won the competition!”
Jack shrugged. “Winning doesn’t mean it was perfect. I wish I had done things differently.”
Inse glanced at Curity, who nodded. “This is the third transformation,” she whispered. “We can help Jack.”
Inse grinned. “Hey, Jack, we can fix it together! We’re a team, right?”
Jack’s face lit up. “Really? That would be awesome!”
The three of them worked together, improving Jack’s project. As they finished, Inse felt something new—not jealousy, but pride.
As they walked home, he smiled. “I think I finally get it. The voice of security isn’t about ignoring my feelings. It helps me focus on what really matters.”
Curity ruffled his hair. “Exactly. You just learned to celebrate—by listening to the right voice.”
The End.
