Once upon a starry night, Inse the little boy brother was feeling blue. He couldn’t seem to find anything he was good at, and he felt like he wasn’t as special as his big sister Curity. Inse would watch as Curity danced, sang, and painted beautiful pictures, while he felt like he couldn’t do anything right.
One day, while they were walking through a field of sunflowers, Inse expressed his feelings to Curity. “I wish I was as talented as you, Curity. I feel like I’m not good at anything,” he said with a sigh.
Curity put her arm around Inse and replied, “But Inse, you are good at so many things! Remember when you helped Mom plant these sunflowers? You have a green thumb, and you’re great at taking care of plants. And what about the time you helped Dad fix the leaky faucet? You’re a great helper and problem solver!”
Inse looked up at Curity, feeling a little better. “I guess you’re right, Curity. But I still feel like I’m not special.”
Curity smiled and said, “That’s where you’re wrong, Inse. You’re unique and special in your own way. There’s no one else in the world who’s exactly like you, and that’s what makes you shine!”
Inse thought about Curity’s words and realized that she was right. He decided to focus on his strengths and embrace his uniqueness. Whenever he felt down, he remembered Curity’s words and felt better.
Through the story, children will learn about the five transformations as Inse learns to ignore his voice of insecurity, use it as inspiration, listen to his voice of security, take action based on what he learned, and befriend both voices. Short dialogues between Inse and Curity will explain each step of the transformation.
The book will end with Inse feeling more confident and happy, shining in his own way. Children will learn the importance of focusing on their strengths and embracing their uniqueness.
Goodnight, little ones! Sleep tight and remember to always let your light shine!
