The stories grade 3-4 are deliberately written in language that is understandable for parents. So extra explanation is (intentionally) required while reading the story. This creates a more intense parent-child relationship.

Title: “Inse and the Magic of Calm”

Inse loved playing at the park, but sometimes, things didn’t go his way. And when that happened, his anger felt like a big, red balloon filling up inside him, ready to pop!

One afternoon, he was happily building a tower in the sandbox when another child ran by and knocked it over. Inse’s face grew hot. His fists clenched.

“That wasn’t fair!” the voice of insecurity whispered. “You should get mad! Yell! Push them back!”

Inse felt like exploding, but then he heard another voice—a calmer, kinder one.

“Breathe, Inse. You are in control.”

It was Curity, standing nearby with a gentle smile. She knelt beside him. “Inse, I saw what happened. That was frustrating, huh?”

Inse nodded, still fuming.

“That voice of insecurity wants you to act on your anger,” Curity said. “But let’s listen to the voice of security instead. It helps you stay calm and make good choices. Want to try it?”

Inse hesitated, then nodded.

“First, take a deep breath. In through your nose… out through your mouth.”

Inse breathed in, then out.

“Now, close your eyes and count to five.”

Inse counted. Slowly, the red balloon inside him shrank.

Curity smiled. “Good! Now ask yourself—what would the voice of security say?”

Inse thought. “It was an accident. I can fix my tower. I don’t have to be upset.”

When he opened his eyes, he felt… better.

Curity gave him a high-five. “That’s 3 TFM – Let the Voice of Security Be Your Guide! When you feel mad, let that calm voice help you.”

Inse nodded, grabbing his bucket. “Thanks, Curity. I think I’ll build an even bigger tower!”

Curity grinned. “Now that’s the spirit!”

And from that day on, whenever anger bubbled inside him, Inse took a deep breath and listened to the voice of security.

The End.

This story helps students learn how to let the voice of security guide them when dealing with anger or frustration. Perfect for Day 1 of the challenge! 😊
