Inse sat on the front steps of his house, staring at the ground. His shoulders slumped.
Curity sat beside him. “What’s wrong?” she asked.
“I made a mistake in class today,” Inse sighed. “Everyone probably thinks I’m silly. The voice in my head keeps saying I’ll never be good at anything.”
Curity smiled gently. “That’s your Voice of Insecurity talking. But you also have a Voice of Security—and both voices are part of you.”
Inse frowned. “Both?”
Curity nodded. “Yep! The Voice of Insecurity is scared of mistakes, but the Voice of Security knows mistakes help us grow. Instead of ignoring one or the other, we can befriend both voices. That’s what 5 TFM is all about.”
Inse blinked. “Befriend them? But why would I want to listen to the voice that makes me feel bad?”
Curity pointed at the garden beside them. “See that tiny plant? Right now, it’s small, but if you give it sunlight and water, it grows strong. If you listen to both voices, you learn when to take caution—but also when to trust yourself and grow.”
Inse thought about this. “So when my Voice of Insecurity says, ‘You’re not good at this,’ my Voice of Security can say, ‘You’re still learning’?”
Curity nodded. “Exactly!”
Over the next few days, Inse practiced listening to both voices. When he felt nervous about trying something new, he let his Voice of Security remind him that it was okay to make mistakes.
One day, Inse ran up to Curity, beaming. “I presented my project in front of the class today! My Voice of Insecurity told me to sit down, but my Voice of Security told me I was ready—so I did it anyway!”
Curity grinned. “That’s amazing! You’re learning to befriend both voices.”
As they walked home, Inse felt different—stronger. He still had doubts sometimes, but now he knew: he could learn from both voices and keep growing.
The End.
