The stories age 4+ are deliberately written in language that is understandable for parents. So extra explanation is (intentionally) required while read the bedtime story. This creates more intense parent-child relationship.

It was a dark and quiet night, but Inse was having trouble sleeping. He tossed and turned, trying to find a comfortable spot, but his mind kept racing with worries and fears. He couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong, and he didn’t know how to make it go away.

Just then, his older sister Curity came into his room. She had a gentle smile on her face and a warm blanket in her hands.

“Hey there, little brother,” she said softly. “I noticed you were having trouble sleeping. Want to talk about it?”

Inse hesitated at first, but then he nodded his head. Curity sat down next to him and wrapped the cozy blanket around him.

“It’s just that…I don’t know. I feel scared,” he whispered.

Curity understood. She had been there before, too. She told him a story about a time when she was afraid of the dark and didn’t know what to do.

“But then I learned about something called the five transformations,” she said. “And it helped me feel better. Do you want to learn about them, too?”

Inse nodded eagerly. Curity explained each transformation to him, using simple words and examples that he could understand.

“First, you ignore the voice in your head that tells you to be scared. Then, you laugh at it and use it for inspiration instead. Next, you focus on the good things in your life and feel confident. After that, you take action to make things better. And finally, you make friends with the two voices in your head, even the scared one.”

Inse listened intently, feeling better with each word. He snuggled deeper into the blanket and let out a small yawn.

“So, what do you say we try the five transformations together?” Curity said, giving him a playful nudge.

Inse smiled and closed his eyes. He imagined himself ignoring the scared voice in his head, laughing at it, feeling confident, taking action, and making friends with both voices.

Before he knew it, he was fast asleep, with a peaceful expression on his face.

The next morning, Inse woke up feeling much better. He even had a big smile on his face as he walked to the kitchen for breakfast.

“Good morning, sleepyhead!” Curity teased. “Looks like the five transformations worked their magic.”

Inse nodded, feeling proud of himself for learning something new. He knew that he still might feel scared sometimes, but now he had the tools to help himself feel better.

And with that, he sat down to enjoy a delicious breakfast, feeling happy and confident in his own skin.

The End.
