As the sun began to set and the moon rose high in the sky, Inse and Curity were getting ready for bed. As they snuggled up under their covers, Inse shared with Curity something that was bothering him.
“I heard a rumor at school today,” Inse said, his voice shaky.
“What kind of rumor?” Curity asked, her brow furrowed in concern.
Inse hesitated before admitting, “People are saying that we cheated on our last math test.”
Security’s eyes widened in surprise before she let out a small laugh. “That’s ridiculous! You know we would never cheat. Let’s ignore those silly rumors.”
Inse looked skeptical, but Curity continued, “Remember what we learned about the five transformations? We can use them to help us deal with this rumor.”
Inse nodded, remembering the lessons they had learned about the voices in their heads.
“The first transformation is to ignore the voice of insecurity,” Curity explained. “Those rumors are just someone else’s voice of insecurity. We know the truth about ourselves and that’s what really matters.”
Inse thought about what Curity said and slowly began to feel better. But he still felt a little sad and frustrated that people were saying untrue things about them.
“That’s where the second transformation comes in,” Curity said. “We can use this voice of insecurity as amusement and inspiration. We can laugh at the silly rumors and use it as inspiration to be even better.”
Inse smiled, feeling better already. He realized that they didn’t need to worry about the rumors and could just focus on doing their best.
“But what if people keep talking about us?” Inse asked, still feeling a little worried.
“That’s where the third transformation comes in,” Curity said. “We can listen to the voice of security and trust ourselves. We know we didn’t cheat and that’s what really matters. We can stay confident and true to ourselves.”
Inse nodded, feeling more confident with each passing moment.
“But we can’t just ignore it completely,” Curity said. “That’s where the fourth transformation comes in. We need to take action and talk to our teacher or parents about what’s going on. That way, we can clear our name and put a stop to the rumors.”
Inse agreed and felt much better knowing that they could take action to clear their name.
“And finally, the fifth transformation is to befriend the two voices,” Curity said. “We can learn to accept that there will always be negative voices out there, but we can also focus on the positive and surround ourselves with people who support us.”
Inse smiled, feeling grateful for his sister’s wise words. He hugged her tightly and thanked her for helping him through this tough time.
As they drifted off to sleep, Inse realized that the voices in his head didn’t have to control him. He had the power to choose how to react to them and how to handle difficult situations. And with the help of his sister and the five transformations, he knew he could overcome anything.
