Inse woke up feeling tired and grumpy. He didn’t want to get out of bed and face the day. He heard the voice of insecurity in his head telling him that he wasn’t good enough and that he shouldn’t even try. But Curity, his older sister, was there to help him.
“Good morning, Inse,” she said with a smile. “Are you ready for a new day?”
Inse groaned and rolled over. “I don’t feel good. I don’t want to go to school.”
Curity sat down on the edge of his bed. “It’s okay to feel that way sometimes, Inse. But you have to take care of yourself. Remember the first transformation – ignore the voice of insecurity? You can do that by listening to your body and taking care of your physical and mental health.”
Inse sat up and looked at his sister. “What do you mean?”
“Well, let’s start with some physical self-care. Have you been getting enough sleep? Eating healthy foods? Drinking water?”
Inse shook his head. “No, I stay up late and I eat junk food.”
Curity nodded. “That can make you feel tired and grumpy. Let’s try to change that. How about we make a healthy breakfast together and then you can take a shower and get dressed for school?”
Inse smiled a little. “Okay, that sounds good.”
They went to the kitchen and Curity helped Inse make some oatmeal with fresh fruit. They sat down at the table and ate together. Inse felt a little better already.
“Now, let’s talk about mental self-care,” Curity said. “Do you remember the second transformation – use the voice of insecurity as amusement and inspiration? You can do that by learning from your negative thoughts and using them to motivate you.”
Inse looked at her skeptically. “How can negative thoughts be helpful?”
“Well, think about it this way. When you hear the voice of insecurity telling you that you’re not good enough, you can choose to ignore it or you can use it as inspiration to try harder. Maybe it means you need to practice more or ask for help. The important thing is not to let it hold you back.”
Inse thought about that for a moment. “I guess that makes sense.”
Curity smiled. “Now, the third transformation – let yourself be guided by the voice of security. That means being kind to yourself and believing in your abilities. Do you believe in yourself, Inse?”
Inse shrugged. “Not really.”
Curity took his hand. “I believe in you, Inse. And I know that you can do great things if you believe in yourself too. Let’s make a plan to take care of yourself and work towards your goals.”
Inse nodded. “Okay, let’s do it.”
They spent the rest of the morning making a plan for Inse to take care of himself. Curity helped him set some small goals and encouraged him to believe in himself. Inse felt better than he had in a long time.
As they walked to school, Inse turned to his sister. “Thanks, Curity. I feel a lot better now.”
Curity smiled. “I’m glad, Inse. Remember the fourth transformation – take action. You have the power to make positive changes in your life. And the fifth transformation – befriend the two inner voices. You can learn to live with your insecurities and your strengths. They’re both a part of who you are.”
Inse nodded. “I think I understand now.”
Curity patted his back. “You’re doing great, Inse. Just keep taking care of yourself and believing in yourself. You got this.”
Inse smiled

Inse followed Curity’s lead and took a deep breath, closing his eyes and exhaling slowly. As he exhaled, he let go of his worries and fears, feeling lighter and more at ease. He opened his eyes and smiled at Curity.
“Thanks, Curity. I feel much better now,” he said, feeling grateful for her help.
“Of course, Inse. It’s important to take care of ourselves, both physically and mentally. And sometimes, that means taking a break and just breathing,” Curity replied, smiling back at him.
Inse nodded, realizing that he needed to make time for self-care and to listen to the voice of security instead of always listening to the voice of insecurity.
As they walked back to their house, Curity reminded Inse about the five transformations and how they could help him overcome his insecurities and fears. Inse listened attentively, feeling more empowered and confident with each passing moment.
“Remember, Inse, the voice of insecurity may always be there, but it doesn’t have to control you. You have the power to choose how you respond to it. You can choose to laugh at it, to learn from it, and to let it go. And you can choose to listen to the voice of security, to be self-confident, inspired, and creative,” Curity said.
Inse nodded, feeling more confident and inspired than ever before. He knew that he had a lot to learn, but he also knew that he had Curity by his side to guide him along the way.
As they arrived home, Inse felt grateful for his sister’s help and support. He knew that he still had a lot to work on, but he also knew that he was on the right path. And with the help of Curity and the five transformations, he knew that he could overcome his insecurities and fears and become the best version of himself.
The end.
