Inse and Curity were excited to go to the community pool. Inse had never been to a pool before and was nervous about swimming in the deep end. Curity, on the other hand, was a confident swimmer and couldn’t wait to show Inse how to swim.
As they arrived at the pool, Inse’s nerves started to kick in. “I don’t think I can swim in the deep end,” Inse said.
Curity smiled reassuringly. “It’s okay, Inse. We’ll start in the shallow end and work our way up. Remember the first transformation – ignore the voice of insecurity.”
Inse took a deep breath and tried to ignore the voice of insecurity in his head. He followed Curity to the shallow end of the pool, but his heart was pounding with fear.
“Okay, Inse, first thing you need to do is float on your back,” Curity instructed.
Inse tentatively lay on his back, but his body sank into the water. “I can’t do it,” he said, panicked.
Curity chuckled. “It’s okay, Inse. Remember the second transformation – use the voice of insecurity as amusement and inspiration. Don’t take it too seriously.”
Inse took a deep breath and tried again. This time, he let himself relax and began to float on his back. “I did it!” he exclaimed, surprised and delighted.
Curity smiled proudly. “Great job, Inse. Now let’s move on to the next step – kicking.”
They spent the next hour practicing different swimming techniques, with Curity gently encouraging Inse and reminding him of the third transformation – to let the voice of security guide him. Inse gradually gained more confidence and started to enjoy himself.
As the sun began to set, Inse and Curity took a break and sat on the edge of the pool. Inse’s face was beaming with happiness.
“I never thought I could learn to swim,” he said. “Thank you so much for teaching me, Curity.”
Curity smiled warmly. “You’re welcome, Inse. And remember the fourth transformation – take action. Keep practicing, and you’ll be a pro swimmer in no time.”
Inse grinned. “I will!”
As they got out of the pool and dried off, Inse realized that the voice of insecurity was still there, but it didn’t control him anymore. He had learned to use it as inspiration and amusement, just like Curity had taught him.
And as they walked back to their car, both dripping wet and laughing, Inse and Curity realized that they had become not just siblings, but best friends.
