Inse was a shy and anxious boy who was afraid of trying new things. He would often watch his friends try out different sports or hobbies, but he would never join in. He was too afraid of failing and looking foolish in front of others.
One day, while on a walk in the park with his sister, Curity, Inse came across a tall tree with a rope swing hanging from one of its branches. Curity urged Inse to give it a try, but Inse shook his head, feeling nervous and scared.
“Don’t worry, Inse,” Curity said. “You don’t have to be perfect at everything you do. It’s okay to make mistakes and learn from them.”
Inse looked up at the swing, imagining himself flying through the air like a bird. But the voice of insecurity crept into his head, telling him that he would never be able to do it.
“Remember the first transformation,” Curity reminded him. “Ignore that voice and listen to the voice of security instead.”
Taking a deep breath, Inse closed his eyes and imagined himself swinging high into the sky. Slowly, he climbed onto the swing and took a deep breath before letting go.
At first, Inse was scared and unsure, but as he swung back and forth, he felt a sense of freedom and joy. He laughed as he swung higher and higher, feeling proud of himself for trying something new.
“That was amazing, Inse!” Curity exclaimed. “You did it!”
Inse smiled, feeling more confident and self-assured than he had in a long time.
As they walked home, Inse shared with Curity how he had always been afraid of failing and how it had held him back from trying new things. Curity listened patiently, nodding in understanding.
“That’s where the second transformation comes in,” she explained. “You can use that voice of insecurity as inspiration to motivate yourself to do better next time. Instead of being afraid of failure, use it as a learning opportunity to grow and improve.”
Inse nodded, feeling grateful for his sister’s wise words. He realized that he had been holding himself back for far too long because of his fear of failure.
Over the next few weeks, Inse continued to try new things and take risks. He joined the soccer team at school and even auditioned for the school play. Though he was nervous at first, he remembered Curity’s words of encouragement and used them to push through his fears.
Inse and Curity learned that taking risks and trying new things was a part of growing up and learning. They realized that it was okay to make mistakes and that failure was simply an opportunity to learn and do better next time.
As they walked hand in hand through the park, Inse and Curity looked up at the sky and smiled, feeling grateful for the lessons they had learned and the bond they shared.
