Title: Inse and Curity: Laughing Away the Voice of Insecurity
Inse walked home from school, his backpack bouncing with every step. The sun was warm, but inside, he felt cold. Today had been another tough day—he had barely spoken in class, afraid of saying something silly. As he turned the corner, he heard laughter.
“Hey, look! It’s Scaredy-Inse!” one of the boys called.
Inse’s stomach twisted into knots. The voice of insecurity inside his head whispered, They’re right. You always mess up. Just run away!
But then he remembered what his sister, Curity, had told him about the Five Transformations. Today, he was supposed to practice “2 TFM – Use the Voice of Insecurity for Amusement and Inspiration.”
Curity had explained it like this:
“When the voice of insecurity tries to make you feel bad, turn it into something funny instead! Make it into a joke, like a silly TV show.”
Inse took a deep breath. Instead of letting the words hurt him, he imagined them as part of a goofy cartoon. What if the bullies had squeaky chipmunk voices? What if their words came out like rubber duck sounds? The thought made him chuckle.
One of the boys frowned. “What’s so funny?”
Inse grinned. “Oh, I just thought of something silly. You guys sound like a bunch of ducks!” He quacked loudly, and Curity’s words filled his mind: Turn insecurity into something fun.
The bullies looked at each other, confused. Then one of them smirked. “Well, at least you have a sense of humor.” They walked away, leaving Inse standing there—safe, and feeling just a little braver.
That night, he told Curity what happened.
“I tried 2 TFM today,” he said proudly. “And guess what? It worked!”
Curity smiled. “See? When you don’t let their words have power over you, they stop being scary.”
Inse felt lighter. Maybe, just maybe, he could handle this after all.
The End.
