Title: Inse and Curity: Finding Power in Laughter

Inse usually kept his head down in the hallways. If he walked fast enough, maybe no one would notice him.

But today was different. As he passed the lockers, a group of boys spotted him. “Hey, Inse!” one of them sneered. “Did you bring your invisible friend today?”

The others laughed. Inse felt his face heat up. They always do this, the voice of insecurity murmured. Just ignore them. No, wait, run!

His feet wanted to sprint. His hands felt clammy. But then he remembered what Curity had told him:

“The voice of insecurity can actually help you—if you turn it into something funny or inspiring. Try twisting it into a joke or using it as motivation.”

So instead of running, he took a deep breath and smirked. “Actually,” he said, “I don’t need an invisible friend. I have my own personal audience!”

The bullies stopped. “Huh?”

“You guys follow me around so much, I should start charging for tickets.”

There was silence for a moment. Then a couple of kids nearby chuckled. Even one of the bullies cracked a smile before rolling his eyes.

“Whatever,” one muttered. “Let’s go.”

As they walked away, Curity appeared beside him. “I saw that,” she said, nudging his shoulder. “You totally used 2 TFM!”

Inse nodded. “I made their words into something funny instead of letting them hurt me.”

“Exactly! When you don’t react how they expect, they don’t have power over you.”

Inse grinned. Maybe the voice of insecurity wasn’t so bad—if he could twist it into something he controlled.

The End.
