Inse sat at his desk, staring down at the blank page in front of him. He was supposed to write a story for class, but he couldn’t think of anything to write about. He sighed and looked around the classroom, watching as his classmates happily scribbled away.
As he watched, he felt a knot form in his stomach. He wished he could be like them – outgoing and confident, able to effortlessly put words on paper. But whenever he tried to write, his mind went blank.
Feeling defeated, Inse put his head down on his desk. Suddenly, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He looked up to see his older sister, Curity, standing next to him.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” she asked.
Inse sighed. “I just can’t think of anything to write about. Everyone else seems to have such great ideas.”
Curity smiled. “That’s because they’re not you. You have your own unique perspective and experiences, and that’s what makes your writing special. Remember the second transformation – use your insecurities as inspiration.”
Inse furrowed his brow. “What do you mean?”
“Well, think about it,” Curity said. “You’re feeling insecure about your writing, right? But that means you’re passionate about it. You care about doing a good job, and that’s a great thing. Use that passion to fuel your creativity.”
Inse thought about what Curity had said. She was right – he did care about writing, even if he didn’t always feel confident about it. He sat up a little straighter and took a deep breath.
“Thanks, Curity,” he said. “I’m going to give it a try.”
With Curity’s encouragement, Inse began to write. He wrote about the time he and Curity went on a hike and got lost in the woods. He wrote about the time he tried to make a cake for their mom’s birthday and it turned out horribly. And as he wrote, he began to feel more and more confident in his abilities.
Before he knew it, the bell had rung and it was time to go home. Inse gathered his things and headed out to meet Curity.
“How was your day?” she asked.
“It was good,” Inse said with a smile. “I wrote a story, and it wasn’t half bad.”
Curity grinned. “That’s great to hear! See, you just needed a little bit of encouragement.”
As they walked home, Inse thought about what he had learned. He realized that he didn’t have to be like anyone else – he was unique, and that was something to be proud of. And with the help of the five transformations, he knew he could overcome his insecurities and embrace his self-confidence.
The end.
